"In my work I wish to convey a sense of place at the edge: the distant horizon seen from the ocean's doorstep; currents carrying pebbles along a river's bank."

After earning her degree in biological sciences, Flo Ulrich studied with nationally renowned artists at the Fredericksburg Artist School and Scottsdales Artists' school. With the encouragement of teachers, Flo decided to pursue art full time in 1998. She is a founding member of Plein Air Austin and was accepted into Oil Painters of America and American Women Artists. In 2006, Flo temporarily set aside her brushes, began working in glass and quickly garnered national attention. Ms. Ulrich was awarded residencies at the Pilchuck Glass School in Washington state,  and Northlands Creative Glass in Scotland. The resulting work was part of a nationally touring museum show sponsored by Bullseye Glass Company.

Now living in Charleston, SC., Flo's glass works will take advantage of the beautiful light, airy marsh vistas and ocean horizons.
